Mr Isgandarov has extensive diplomatic experience. He is currently Azerbaijan’s ambassador to Switzerland and Liechtenstein, and has also served as ambassador to Belgium and the Netherlands.

The Secretary General of OTIF welcomes this appointment, which will enable continued cooperation between Azerbaijan, a Member State, and OTIF. The presence of permanent representatives of the Member States at the Organisation’s headquarters means that the Member States and OTIF can work together more quickly.
