Legal Texts
OTIF’s legal texts are official documents.
These texts are the essence of OTIF. They represent a consensus between the Member States, and are the culmination of the work carried out since the Organisation was set up to promote and improve international rail transport.
Conventions, regulations, provisions, circulars, agreements, derogations, declarations, registrations and explanatory reports are just some of the documents available to the public and professionals.
The main aim of these texts is to establish uniform railway contract law, to improve safety in the transport of dangerous goods, and to build the framework for safe technical interoperability – from the exchange of vehicles to the truly international operation of trains.
