As participants in the eighty-seventh session of the UNECE Inland Transport Committee in Geneva, they both took the opportunity to meet.

They were able to exchange views on the importance of international rail transport and its legal framework, and on the importance of cooperating to promote and facilitate rail transport.
Their discussion focused on the complementary nature of OTIF and the UNECE and their role in the sector.

The Secretary General welcomed this meeting.
