On 5 August 2026, His Excellency Mr Florian Raunig, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Austria to Switzerland, paid a visit to Mr Aleksandr Kuzmenko, Secretary General of OTIF.

Having been appointed Austrian Ambassador to Switzerland on 1 July 2026, Mr Florian Raunig wished to introduce himself.

During their meeting, Mr Raunig and Mr Kuzmenko discussed current issues in international rail transport, the prospects for its development, and the application of the Convention concerning International Carriage by Rail (COTIF) and the role played by OTIF.

The Secretary General welcomed this visit and thanked Mr Raunig for the productive discussions they had.
