General Assembly
The General Assembly is made up of all OTIF’s members and meets every three years at the invitation of the Secretary General. It may hold extraordinary sessions in the cases described in COTIF.
The General Assembly is OTIF’s supreme decision-making body (Article 14 COTIF 1999).
It elects the Secretary General, designates the members of the Administrative Committee, approves the Organisation’s strategies and fixes its maximum amount of expenditure.
It also takes decisions on certain proposals to amend COTIF.
Lastly, it establishes its Rules of Procedure.
The last General Assembly was held in Berne on 25 and 26 September 2024.
