The Committee of Technical Experts

The Committee of Technical Experts (CTE) is an organ of OTIF. It is made up of the Member States that apply Appendices F and G (APTU, ATMF) to COTIF. The Committee of Technical Experts is convened by the Secretary General.<\/p>\n

\"nopic\"The Committee of Technical Experts has competence in matters of interoperability and technical harmonisation in the railway field and technical approval procedures.<\/p>\n

This includes procedures and technical requirements for the admission of vehicles to international traffic, as well as responsibilities linked to the use of these vehicles in international traffic, such as the maintenance of vehicles and the composition of trains.<\/p>\n

In addition, the CTE is entrusted with additional competences as defined in ATMF, such as the development of international registers and promoting the correct application of the technical provisions by Member States.<\/p>\n

The CTE therefore enables the Uniform Rules (UR) of the APTU and ATMF Appendices to be developed<\/p>\n
