Joint Coordinating Group of Experts (JCGE)
\n<\/h3>\n

The Joint Coordinating Group of Experts (JCGE) is an ad-hoc working group whose aim is to contribute to ensuring that legislative developments in RID and general railway law (railway legislation concerning interoperability and safety) are consistent and that conflicting requirements are avoided for vehicles and operations in the carriage of dangerous goods by rail.<\/p>\n

The JCGE was set up following the conclusions of the RID-ATMF Working Group and it has been endorsed by:
\n\u00b7 OTIF\u2019s RID Committee of Experts \u00b7OTIF\u2019s Committee of Technical Experts
\n\u00b7 The EU\u2019s Committee on the Transport of Dangerous Goods
\n\u00b7 The EU\u2019s Railway Interoperability and Safety Committee.<\/p>\n

Its tasks are to:
\n\u00b7 Identify items that require coordination between dangerous goods and general railway law
\n\u00b7 Examine and propose solutions to reconcile RID and general railway law
\n\u00b7 Issue advice to the relevant committees within OTIF (RID Committee of Experts and Committee of Technical Experts) and DGMOVE in respect of the items defined and concerning appropriate interfaces between RID and general railway law.<\/p>\n

The JCGE brings together experts in the transport of dangerous goods and railway experts from the Member States, as well as representatives from the relevant industry sectors.<\/p>\n
