It aims to:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Maintain and strengthen unity, solidarity, good relations and mutual understanding between members of staff;<\/li>\n<li>Ensure satisfactory working conditions for staff;<\/li>\n<li>Improve the professional situation, in the broadest sense of the term, of members of staff and help those who find themselves in a difficult professional situation;<\/li>\n<li>Protect the status and independence of international civil servants;<\/li>\n<li>Assist in achieving the aims of OTIF and the proper functioning of the OTIF Secretariat.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>MEMBERS<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The Staff Association welcomes both active and associate members.<br \/>\nActive members are any current staff of OTIF with a fixed-term or permanent contract.<br \/>\nAssociate members can be any former member of the staff of OTIF who is in receipt of a retirement or invalidity pension, as well as interns for the period of their internship.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>GOVERNANCE<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The Staff Association consists of the following two organs:<\/p>\n<p><strong>Staff Council<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The Staff Council is the executive organ of the Staff Association and represents the interests of staff and defends the Staff Assembly&#8217;s decisions to the Secretary General and other persons and organs of OTIF that have competence in areas affecting staff.<br \/>\nThe Staff Council also prepares the provisional agenda for the ordinary and extraordinary sessions of the Staff Assembly.<\/p>\n<p><strong>The Staff Assembly<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The Staff Assembly is the supreme organ of the Association. As such, it elects the Staff Council, discusses proposals and decides the Association&#8217;s course of action and main activities.
